I made my way east a couple of weeks ago to photograph Sierra in beautiful Capay Valley. After countless trips to portrait studios and not much to show for it, Sierra and her mom were ready to try a new approach. They decided on location photos were more their style so we hopped in the car and stopped any place that had a good back drop! A little spontaneity is crucial in photography, and needless to say, it worked!! We had so much fun, we found parks, orchards and Sunflower fields 🙂 I fell in a ditch and had to do half of the shoot bare foot but it was so, so worth it! Thank goodness that Sierra’s dad saw us on the side of the road and happened to have a shovel in his truck, he dug my flip flop’s out of the ditch and we were good to go. Thank you Sierra and Lydia for a memorable photo shoot. You are both stunning 🙂
A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of second shooting a wedding with my great friend Sheila Garvey, www.sheilagarvey.com. The wedding was up near Yosemite. Neither of us had ever been up that way so it was a lot of fun to drive up together and see all of the beautiful sights. The weather was HOT and the wedding was beautiful! The setting was perfect for a short and sweet ceremony followed by a casual reception poolside 🙂 The bride and groom both looked amazing and their families were great. Thanks you two for allowing us to capture your amazing day!
